December Challenge: Days 13-18

Day 13: Nature
I have a fascination with trees and branches.
There's something wonderfully mysterious about them.

Day 14: Luxury
There's a true luxury when it comes to chocolate.
And especially when chocolate is mixed with marshmallows.

Day 15: Gear
My gear consists of journals, a camera or two and an awesome bag.
Yes, I'm superwoman.

Day 16: Orange
I looked for something orange, and the first thing I saw was a picture of my bro's.
Barton's shirt (the one on the left) is orange.
But this is prettier.

Day 17: Symmetrical
A beautiful Christmas tree.

Day 18: Asymmetrical
The lovely square.

 Tell me what you think!
December challenge is almost over!

December Challenge: Days 7-12

Day 7: Clean
I was in the middle of a shoot in a cotton field and was able to grab some beautiful pictures of the natural cotton before it was gone. It seemed so pure and real.

Day 8: Filthy
I have no idea why these people are protesting.
But they are protesting and living in tents in front of our town library.
Nasty.

Day 9: Pop Culture
A friend and I went shopping recently for new purses.
She fell in love with one and bought it, and later found out it's got one interesting name.

Day 10: Glass
I was working with a friend in her awesome studio
and started to fall in love with this mirror.

Day 11: Landscape
Okay, I know this isn't truly a 'landscape,'
but it's part of one and I think it's lovely we have leaves in December.

Day 12: Portrait
I've been taking a lot of portraits of others lately,
so here's one of me.

Hope you're enjoying my December challenge!

December Challenge: Days 1-6

Day 1: A street
I love the square in Murfreesboro, and snapping shots at night are just gorgeous.

Day 2: Strangers
I was on the square...again...and saw this sweet woman walking her dog for about an hour.
He was very captivated by the people and cars running through.

Day 3: Lunch
I had a lovely morning of shooting photos
and met up afterward for a yummy lunch with one awesome girl.

Day 4: Light
I'm one of those people who always have a camera on me.
I was driving and looked down to see the sun light shining in on one of my favorite photos and some fresh flowers from a sweetheart.

Day 5: Dark.
I was thinking to myself, "What in the world can I photograph for dark?"
I turned around to see the bags I carry everyday, sitting in a black chair.
All of which are dark.

Day 6: Texture
There's nothing that compares to Christmas decor.

December Challenge

I got an email this evening from a friend who is also a photographer, sharing a challenge she is taking on for the month of December. It's a photography challenge: one picture for every day of the month, according to a list. She shared her list with me and I believe that I'm taking it!

Here's my list.

I think I'm going to take them all in black and white and post them at the end of the month...or weekly...or every day...Hmm..

Either way, I'm looking forward to it!
Why not take the challenge with me?

Family Ties

This past weekend my brothers and I had the honor of having some pictures taken by the wonderful Rebecca Kelly. Her photography is amazing and I could spend forever looking at what she has done. We met up at the square in Murfreesboro and she snapped away! I was so anxious to get these back, but I had no idea how wonderful they would be! They are awesome, and I am in love with them. Here's some she shared with me.

I think this one is my favorite.

I love how she captured the detail and beauty of my tattoo.

Okay, maybe this one is my favorite.

The famous, Abbey Road.

I cannot say how great these truly are. She is wonderful and with my brother leaving for the Army in a week I will cherish these. They definitely capture our close relationship. If you need some great photos, definitely check her out.

Day #2.

Day #2: A picture of you and the person you have been close with for the longest.

This is Hannah. She was born when I was close to two and she was my best friend since the moment we met. I had no siblings yet and wouldn't ever have a real sister, but we instantaneously clicked and spent time together whenever we could. I remember endless days of playing American Girl dolls, sleepovers, and summers in the dollhouse. We would make mud pies, pretend to be mermaids and she even taught me how to swim. Every single family get-together we would both bring an over night bag, knowing someone would go home with the other. We have always been closer than close and she means the absolute world to me. She is not only my cousin, but my sister. The picture above is from her wedding back on New Year's Day. I was honored to stand by her side as her maid of honor and see her marry a wonderful man. I know God has got amazing things ahead for her and she'll never know how much she means to me.

Day #1.

Okay, I am finally giving in. I've been told over and over that I "need" to do the 60 day photo challenge that is running all over Facebook. I don't really have the time to do this but I do have the photos...

...So why not?

Day #1: A picture of yourself with fifteen facts.

1. I am addicted to coffee. Yes, addicted.
2. I have a passion to teach children, especially about God.
3. Pink is my favorite color.
4. I am highly organized...to the point where my closet is item and color coded.
5. I love my job and I pray I can continue it for a very long time.
6. Best trip I've ever been on is to the Dominican Republic.
7. I am the oldest of 3 children. I have two younger brothers.
8. I like all types of music, except for the screamo stuff.
9. I am an Apple lover.
10. My birthday is in May.
11. I love all seasons. Don't have a favorite. Each one seems to come at the right time.
12. I spend A LOT of time writing. It's just what I do.
13. I love to be outdoors. Much better than sitting inside.
14. I've always been addicted to photography. I have every picture I've ever taken since I was 18 on disc, in order of date. (There's a hint into the o.c.d....)
15. You'll hear at least one of these again, I'm sure.

baby Brylee.

Some dear friends recently welcomed an adorable daughter into the world. Meet Ms. Brylee!
She is the sweetest, smallest bundle of joy and was such a great baby to work with. It's been such a long time since I have had a shoot but it was great to get the chance to capture some newborn pictures for her Mom & Dad.
