Psalm 139
and know everything about me.
You know when I sit down or stand up.
You know my thoughts even when I'm far away.
and when I rest at home.
You know everything I do.
You know what I am going to say
even before I say it, Lord.
You go before me and follow me.
You place your hand of blessing on my head.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too great for me to understand!
I can never get away from your presence!
if I go down to the grave, you are there.
If I ride the wings of the morning,
if I dwell by the farthest oceans,
even there your hand will guide me,
and your strength will support me.
I could ask the darkness to hide me
and the light around me to become night—
but even in darkness I cannot hide from you.
To you the night shines as bright as day.
Darkness and light are the same to you.
You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body
and knit me together in my mother's womb.
Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex!
Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.
You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion,
as I was woven together in the dark of the womb.
You saw me before I was born.
Every day of my life was recorded in your book.
Every moment was laid out
before a single day had passed.
How precious are your thoughts about me, O God.
They cannot be numbered!
I can't even count them;
they outnumber the grains of sand!
And when I wake up,
you are still with me!
O God, if only you would destroy the wicked!
Get out of my life, you murderers!
They blaspheme you;
your enemies misuse your name.
O Lord, shouldn't I hate those who hate you?
Shouldn't I despise those who oppose you?
Yes, I hate them with total hatred,
for your enemies are my enemies.
Search me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
and lead me along the path of everlasting life.

Loves me not.
"And then, there's another kind of love: the cruelest kind. The one that almost kills its victims. It's called unrequited love. Of that I am an expert. Most love stories are about people who fall in love with each other. But what about the rest of us? What about our stories, those of us who fall in love alone? We are the victims of the one sided affair. We are the cursed of the loved ones. We are the unloved ones, the walking wounded." Tuesday, August 31, 2010

Proverbs 31
As you read these virtues, I pray that this is all from God and that He speaks to you as you read them. I also ask that as you think about what His Word says, that you apply them to your life and see where you fall according to God's standard. My sister, there is no satisfaction as the kind you find in Christ. Everyday I yearn more for His Word, presence and wisdom and I pray that the following virtues speak to you and open your heart to what God has willed for you.
I am not sure what God has willed for my life but I am confident it is something
far greater than I can imagine as I try to become the woman of Proverbs 31. No
human being could ever live up to God's standard but if we all completely yield
ourselves to Christ and open our heart to what God has in store, out lives will
never be the same. I pray for you, myself and every woman on this earth. I pray
we all strive to be the godly women God intended us to be in a world full of
untruth and brokenness. It wasn't, isn't and never will be easy, but as
Matthew 19:26
says,
"...with God, all things are possible."

Shame.
He visited today. In a refreshingly different, but still awful way than before. back into his dance. But I pulled away and said, “No. I see you today and your story is not worth my time.” |
